Pounding on the cable...
Jun. 1st, 2013 09:42 pmI got the no-deadline-left job out the wire this morning, which is a load off my mind. I need to follow up with an email explaining some of my choices of terminology, but I think I can probably "turn to" on that tomorrow or Monday.
A fellow I work with from time to time roped me into some strange short translations of what appear to be transcripts, which have required me to expand my horizons, so to speak. I've run into non-words like "щас" (for "сейчас") and "ваще" (for "вообще") in the text, which make my eyebrows quiver a bit, but what can I say? Some of the text makes no sense at all, but I handle that by providing an equally incomprehensible translation, as a sort of quid pro quo.
In between, I somehow managed to tap out an idea for this week's LJ Idol "assignment," and my partner—it's an "intersection" week—has whipped up a really nice companion piece. (Come to think of it, I do believe that every intersection I've ever done for LJ Idol has really worked out well.)
Events proceed apace, with fifteen full days and a wakeup left before departure. I should not get too anxious however, as my schedule has already changed once, and can just as easily change again. Still, I think about it.
Cheers...
