Old and new...
Jul. 9th, 2013 10:06 pmSome new faces arrived today, including a fellow I haven't seen in at least three years. He's to take over the helm once the current team heads home, so I'll be working with him during the babysitting period.
I showed up with one book from home (and another that I picked up in Amsterdam), confident that all manner of reading is available either here in the Fili or over in the Polyot Hotel where the Pinkertons stay. Since arriving, I've read Vince Flynn's American Assassin, Ed McBain's Nocturne, and a few others. I prefer books to television or movies, even if turning the pages takes a little longer.
I had wanted to introduce some of the other members of the Russian staff to the television series Elementary, as I have the pilot on my iPad, but it turns out the DRM not only prevents the content from being played on an "unauthorized" machine, but also from being sent to an external television monitor, which did not make me a happy camper. At all.
It's getting late. So maybe it's time to seriously consider rack time.
