New month...
Aug. 1st, 2013 10:47 pmI took a break from recalling different ways of describing the status of being "short" to take account of the stuff that's piling up as a result of a new month coming up on the calendar.
Among other things, my replacement is arriving on Saturday, giving us a two-day handover period that is way more than adequate to effect a suitable "changing of the guard." Although the tasks I've been asked to take care of lately have come in a steady stream, they have not involved the kind of frenzied urgency that accompanies some tasks that are addressed in the course of an active campaign.
I slept very well last night; probably better than I have in a while. I blame the sauna. I shall have to make sure the sauna is turned on tomorrow so that I can test my hypothesis (the hotel will turn on the sauna on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, but apparently only by request).
I've accumulated an interesting amount of paper containing various written notes, and look forward to gathering them all together and taking them to the office tomorrow or the next day, where there is a copier that will scan them (or any document) to PDF and email the result to a designated address. That will certainly lighten the load on the road homeward.
