Why is it?

Why is it that, once you buy an "age-restricted" app from the Apple store (leaving aside why anyone would so liberally apply the restriction), you have to agree that you're of age when the time comes to update the app?

And why is it, to add insult to injury, after having indicated to Apple that no, you have not suddenly nearly overdosed on water from the fountain of youth, does the updating of several apps stop after updating the "age-restricted" app?
