alexpgp: (Interpreter's life)
One thing I noticed with all the recent flying was how sensitive my teeth became. And even driving up from sea level to 7800 feet had an effect on my teeth, especially this one tooth that had undergone a root canal and a cap some years ago.

Last evening, the tooth really made its sensitivity known, making it all but impossible to eat dinner. Then at about 1 am, I did something to really excite the nerve and was not able to fall fully asleep again until morning. Once the world was awake, I made a call and arranged to visit a dentist, and the bottom line was that with some antibiotics and some painkillers, things ought to get under control enough for the issue to be decided under relatively more leisurely condition (i.e., once I'm back in Houston).

To be frank, I did not feel the painkillers doing their job for most of the day (right now, the pain is just enough to keep me aware of it, so maybe they have started to work). Meanwhile, I've been eating apple sauce and drinking liquids. With any luck, perhaps the antibiotics will have kicked in enough by tomorrow morning to where the pain will be even less noticeable.

In other news, today was a reasonable translation day, I emptied out the trunk of the Infiniti, and tried to get some shuteye in the afternoon (with poor results). I've got some translations for tomorrow, but I've also got to (finally) finish with the junk that's in the house. It should be an interesting day.
