Time may get short, shortly...
Feb. 24th, 2014 05:12 pmA previous one-job client sent a query over the weekend, regarding a rather sizeable job, but I didn't feel bad about having missed it because, dadgumit, it was the weekend. I responded this morning with a rate and turnaround time, and duly received a "we're waiting to get the go-ahead from the end client" message.
In the interim, of course, I snag a rather intimidating assignment, comprising an 80-plus page PowerPoint presentation that arrived as a PDF! Now, if this had been one of those mostly-text deals (along the lines of what NASA types love to put together), it wouldn't make much difference whether the source text was in PowerPoint or PDF (except for the OCR step), but as it turns out, this file has more graphics in it than your average Pixar movie, so the call has gone out for the original source file, no matter how large it may be.
Still no word from that one-job client, though...
