All work and no play...
Mar. 30th, 2014 10:18 pmOf course, given an opportunityt o "play" I had to figure out a way to turn it into "work."
Galina and I happen to know a circle of Russian immigrants who meet from time to time to do activities that, by most reasonable American standards, are a little strange.
Things like arranging to meet at someone's house for a light dinner and afterward, to discuss a book that has been read by prearrangement.
Tonight, in honor of the imminent April Fool's Day, it was to meet for a light dinner and tell each other jokes.
You just had to be there.
I had a pretty good time. I even got to tell a few jokes, which I related in Russian.
* * * I managed to get quite a bit done, translation-wise, before we left for dinner. All but the despeckling.
We'll see how that turns out tomorrow.
Cheers...
