Following the ladies...
Jun. 5th, 2014 11:30 pmGalina's sister arrived from Moscow for a visit yesterday, while I entertained a translation job that showed up bright and early and had "rush" written all over it. So while Galina went to pick up her sister at the airport, I struggled with the rush job, the documents for which which—true to the job description—had been hastily assembled by the Russian side, so there were some, mmm... issues to deal with and some assumptions to make peace with so as to make the job make any sense at all.
The usual kinds of just-arrived-after-a-long-plane-ride activities went on before everyone retired for the night.
Today, wonder of wonders, no work came in over the transom, which left a whole lot of time to follow Galina and Alla as they got right down to the important stuff, i.e., shopping. The gals wanted to go to Galveston in the evening, so I invited myself along. On the way home, we stopped at the Pier 8 restaurant in Kemah, which Alla liked very much.
A good time was had by all.
