Taking advantage of "free" time...
Jun. 12th, 2014 08:32 pmGalina, her sister, and I went to the Houston Museum of Fine Arts yesterday. The last time I visited the museum was with Galina, back a few days short of Thanksgiving 2003.
Most of my attention during that previous visit was devoted to a traveling exhibition from the Museum of Modern Art in New York. This time, the three of us wandered through halls of European art upstairs, what appeared to be American art downstairs, and an exhibit of African and Pre-Columbian art before the time caught up with us. As it turned out, the museum closes at 5 pm on Wednesdays, which is probably just as well, because I was starting to feel a bit tired by the time we were informed that the museum was closing.
This morning, Alla and I visited Space Center Houston, and the second visit over the course of three months has convinced me that unless you've got kids in tow, this is really not a destination to go out of your way for unless you're a diehard space fan.
"Free" time came to an end after lunch, to the point where I ended up having to miss tai chi.
No doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Cheers...
