Crazy Friday...
Jun. 20th, 2014 11:06 pmCrazy like a fox, maybe.
Galina's sister will be going back home, soon, so we decided to go down to Galveston for another good close look at the Gulf.
The seaweed, which in places is piled higher than the tallest NBA players, is still coming ashore, making it a little difficult to swim, unless one doesn't much mind constantly coming into contact with things under the water. I particularly enjoyed the salt air.
Galina, her sister, and I went to Pier 8 in Kemah for dinner and stayed long enough to view the Friday night fireworks show. I suppose being aboard one of what appear to be several hundred pleasure boats that surround the fireworks barge would afford a better (i.e., closer) view, but the viewing was good from where we were as well.

Seeing as I was likely going to be away from my computer for most of the day yesterday, I declared a bye for LJ Idol, with the idea that I'd be covered if I wasn't able to post an entry in time for the deadline. As it turned out, I was able to get an entry in, but neglected to let
clauderainsrm know about this eleventh-hour change, and so I ended up listed as having taken a bye in the poll that went up for round 12. My bad.
The bottom line, at this point, is that Gary's added a link to the poll post that points to my entry and I'm no longer among those taking a bye (even though the poll—which can't be edited once it's been put up—says I am). My numbers, at this point, are dismal, and there may be a variety of reasons for that.
It will be interesting to see how things work out.
Cheers...
