(There's probably a pun in the subject, somewhere, but I digress...)

Network Solutions responded to my fax by informing me that my fax was deficient in its content, and suggested I try again, following a new set of instructions, so as to submit a proper fax request for a password reset. Almost immediately after starting to step through the instructions, it became clear to me that NS did, too, have a valid email address on file for me (I was surprised yesterday when NS said they didn't), and so the possibility arose of effecting a reset without a fax, which I tried, with the result of getting a password reset within minutes (instead of the couple of days that would be required to process a fax request).

That done, I corrected some of my information, whereupon I was informed that my domain would remain locked for 30 days (in response to the recent "potentially suspicious" activity in my account) to preclude the possibility of an unauthorized transfer of the domain to another registrar.

After taking care of some documents this morning, Galina and I ventured over to the Baybrook Mall, and I'm here to tell you that the traffic was pretty bad, and here, we're talking about Friday at 10:30 in the morning with five shopping days left before Christmas.

The mall's management ought to be drawn and quartered for allowing the lines in the parking lot to become so faint as to result in the kind of undisciplined parking you'd expect at an impromptu rock concert (though I suspect the parking would likely be better organized even there). Management also deserves additional abuse for the utterly lousy drainage in the parking lot. The rain, which has been on and off since late last night, actually stood in inches-deep puddles between where Galina parked and the mall entrance.

It's been ages since I've been inside the mall. Microsoft has set up one of its stores just opposite the Apple store. The Victoria's Secret store has gotten quite a lot bigger, displacing the See's Candy store I had gone to the mall to visit. The level of commercialization has become rather acute, as well, with management doing its best to fill the walkways with kiosks selling all sorts of crap, staffed by very aggressive sales people.

The rain made today an indoors day, and will likely delay this weekend's planned next phase of the "water feature" project. I spent the time translating (I've got several small jobs backed up for an end client who's on vacation, so there's no big rush to get everything done now-now-now) and reviewing various tweets that I've been sending to my Evernote account from my phone's Falcon Pro Twitter app.

It's about time to start thinking about what to do for dinner. Later...

Cheers...
