Powerhouse Friday...
Apr. 3rd, 2015 08:54 pmThe fairy godmother department over at the office where they manage rush-hour traffic must have done its thing today, because after I allowed 90 minutes to get from home to my medical appointment today, I found myself at the doctor's office a full half hour before I was due, and the traffic didn't even hint at any kind of slowdown anywhere along the way.
After my appointment, I arranged to go visit the Whole Earth Provision Co., over by Trader Joe's near Shepherd and Alabama, and while they've got a nice selection of stuff on display, the prices will set you back some. I saw a hat that would look good on me as I cut the grass, but it cost over $80!
I then took a quick run through Trader Joe's, picking up some of the same goodies that we got when Natalie and Kyle took us there during their visit.
Naturally, no trip of this distance would be complete without a swing by "the Russian store" (which may actually be its name), where I stocked up on various other goodies, especially Galina's beloved пельмени (pelmeni,, sort of a cross between dumplings, potstickers, and ravioli).
The afternoon was spent doing yard work, reviewing notes that I'd made while in the waiting room at the medical office, and napping. I have one item on the plate for the weekend, and it should not take too much time at all.
With any luck, I'll be able to devote time-plus to my 90-day campaign.
Cheers...
