Things are proceeding well...
Apr. 5th, 2015 09:53 pmNot as quickly as I had hoped, but well.
The item due tomorrow morning has been translated. April has started out relatively well.
I find it strange how some ideas for television series are either being copied, or I am reading too much into the general ideas behind various shows. For example, I ran across something called "iZombie," which I had mistakenly thought had some kind of tie-in to Apple (and I suppose there's time for that to develop, or for them to be sued by Cupertino), but actually turns out to be the story of a brilliant medical student who ends up becoming a zombie—with the usual craving for brain tissue—but manages to maintain her sanity and get a job at a morgue.
I see this as something of a ripoff of "Forever," about someone who is apparently immortal (been alive for ~250 years, and is resurrected upon death of the physical body), who also happens to be a medical doctor and (currently) a medical examiner in Manhattan.
The latter show has taken some pains to explore the issues having to do with being immortal (e.g., the risks of falling in love, of being found out, etc.); the former is still too new, in my opinion, and hey, it's on The CW, so I'm not holding my breath for anything particularly deep.
Gotta go put together another couple of weeks of meds. (Now, what did I do with my list?)
Cheers...
