Another tiring day...
Jun. 8th, 2015 09:45 pmAnother followup and yet more evidence that I am not as young as I once was.
It's not that I'm falling apart, only that these days, my body is not as skilled at putting itself back together as it once was. Tant pis pour moi, as they say.
They, if they happen to be Russian, also say "cтарость–не радость," which is a fairly common expression you'll hear in most any group of more than two Russians who are getting on in years. Translated literally, it's "old age is no joy," which frankly sounds pretty mundane. The saying's sole redeeming feature in Russian is the expression rhymes—STAH-rost ne RAH-dost—which does not seem to me to be adequate justification for its use, at least not by me, and not quite yet (or at least not very often).
It was a quiet day, work-wise, either because there actually was no work or because my best client actually had no work to send me or decided to hold off sending it to me for a day.
I did some thinking while eating dinner and waiting for Galina to finish all of the formalities of putting Natalie's house on the rental market again. Some of the thoughts were interesting, but I'm going to have to think about them for a while longer to make better sense of them.
Cheers...
