I took Alla along with me to the fitness place, and neglected to notice—until it was too late—the "POOL CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE" sign that had been taped to the door at the main entrance of the establishment and the door that leads from the entry area into the pool area. By "too late," I mean I had already changed into my suit, showered off, and entered the pool area through the men's locker room before someone called my attention to the sign.
The rest of the day was pretty routine, from a work standpoint, except that I found it hard to keep my eyes open. I managed to send off a reasonable amount of work before going off to tai chi, where the takeaway for the day was sifu's description of the "moving" figure-eight circle (a step up from the moving one-am figure eight, which is a step up from the stationary two-arm figure eight, which is a step up from the stationary single-arm figure eight).
Nobody said this stuff was easy.
* * * Airbnb recently upgraded their service to include crunched data on pricing, which provides hosts with recommendations for how much to charge for their accommodations. We took a look at what Airbnb thought about our pricing structure and were pleased (somewhat) to learn that, generally speaking, we charge less than what was recommended. So just to see what would happen, we decided to allow the software to set the price for our listing.
Now, it may be the case that doing so resulted in someone booking us for this evening, or it may not, but when I got back from tai chi, there was a request from a couple driving cross-country to stay at our place. After warning them that we're not exactly close to I-10, they responded by saying we were in an ideal location because they planned to visit the space center tomorrow.
They also said the expected to be here around 10 pm, but when I called them about 20 minutes ago, that ETA was revised to about 11:30 pm, so I'm sitting in the kitchen, waiting them to arrive and tapping away at this post.
Twenty minutes to go, and I'm about tapped out. :)
