Something happened to me several weeks ago after I pushed myself and walked a mile in the pool over at the fitness center; I felt "out of it" for 3-4 days.

I sort of felt the same this past weekend, after walking a kilometer on Thursday.

Yesterday was declared a "no computer" day (defined as "no work computer"), and I only fired up the machine this afternoon to go step-by-step through my emails from July 15 (the day I left for Canada) to yesterday (the date of the most recent assignment email), to make sure I had a proper record of incoming and outgoing items.

I've also been taking a good, close look at BulletJournaling, which addresses a gap in my org-mode approach to organizing things. Specifically, there are times when nothing short of a piece of paper and a pen can get the job done, especially if one is out and about, or just feeling, um, "analog." The challenge is to make org-mode work with an analog system, and the BulletJournal looks like a good candidate.

I had the idea of going to the Pasadena City beach in the morning, and Alla tagged along. There was a city worker there (first time I've seen one) and just like the sign says, he checked my ID to make sure I was a Pasadena resident before letting me in (else there'd be a $10.00 entrance fee). The policy makes sense, particularly during the weekends, because there are only something like 20 parking spaces in the lot, and according to the fella at the entrance, that's what there is to work with; when the lot is full, newcomers are turned away.

The water was very calm and not too warm. Alla and I were the third and fourth persons on the beach, and I was starting to regret not taking the dogs (which are allowed, provided they stay on a leash).

I am seriously thinking of calling it a night and hitting the rack right now. In terms of work, I have one three-parter that should not take very long, and an editing job that also should not take too much time.

This is going to be a big week, especially Tuesday and Wednesday. More later.
