A new approach...
Sep. 27th, 2015 10:35 pmThere's a new arrangement in the part of my office where my couch used to sit.
In place of the couch, as mentioned previously, is Natalie's recliner, and after having successfully "taken it for a spin" while wearing the urine collection bag that will be my constant companion until Friday, I moved in the "bedside" table that we picked up at a garage sale some time ago (nothing as sophisticated as what was in my room at the hospital, but handy for holding books and laptops), and then got the idea of building emacs from scratch on one of my Raspberry Pi units.
So ultimately, I created this quasi-workstation that lets me read, or type, while doing something on a separate screen. It's not as nifty as my four-screen work setup, but it's nifty enough to occupy my mind on a quietly rainy Sunday in late September in Houston.
Building emacs from sources takes a long time, and there were some wrinkles in the process that required me to find workarounds to the (probably obsolete) ./configure—make—make install sequence for building applications that I'm familiar with.
Physically, I'm moving along. Systems are slowly returning to normal operation. I even got a reasonably good night's sleep last night.
I think I'll go try to make it two for two.
Cheers...
