Coming up for air...
Nov. 8th, 2015 07:13 pmI had my head down yesterday and got caught up with work, which is not to say that I'm free and clear as far as my time is concerned, but that didn't stop me from frittering away most of the day with various enterprises that have nothing to do with work.
I'm not sure it was wasted time, either.
Galina called from somewhere in Virginia around 9:30 am, and over the past half hour or so, I've been shepherding her through the last few miles of New Jersey and into the Holland Tunnel ($14 toll? Are they nuts!) As of a couple of minutes ago, she is headed east on Canal Street, heading for the Manhattan Bridge, but until I have her headed east on 495 (the Long Island Expressway, aka, "the big LIE") I shall consider the issue to still be in doubt.
Aha! Another call!
She's on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.
Almost there!
