Love and hate...
Jan. 18th, 2016 10:10 pmI've never been a big fan of visiting doctors, which is probably responsible—at least in part—for my current predicament. That said, one doctor in particular has been instrumental in pulling me back from the brink, with the question being (to continue with the metaphor): Am I far enough back?
So anyway, today was a go-visit-a-doctor day, and I must admit, going to see one six miles away is a whole lot more convenient that going to see one twenty-six miles away (and on the other side of some pretty impressive traffic, I might add). And while I'm not overwhelmed with the pace at which things appear to finally be moving, they are moving.
In most other respects, life continues nominally (if not better). Exercise, taiji, translation... all went well.
The only thing that keeps getting rescheduled in my BulletJournal is my first Spanish "assignment," which consists of writing a brief introduction (in whatever Spanish I can cobble together, naturally). My hangup is, I think, directly attributable to the idea of Le mieux est l'ennemi du bien, which I am sure has a Spanish translation (or even attribution), but in English and in the here-and-now suggests that the principal reason I'm not getting this done is because I want to write something well and have it be interesting to boot, which ain't gonna happen at my level of Spanish knowledge.
So the faster I get over that, the better it will be for me. The task has been "migrated" to tomorrow.
I hope all your dreams came true today. Me, I did pretty well, but not as well as I'll do tomorrow.
Excelsior!
