Just one crazy day.

At one point, I apparently had three people calling me at one time.

I managed to stay on the line with Blue Cross long enough to whittle the number of insurance policies I'm paying for to one.

My daily record, which usually runs less than 10 lines of to-dos and notes, took up nearly an entire page in my BulletJournal.

Galina put off leaving for New York because things had to be done about Natalie's house at the other end of town (90 minute round trip if you do nothing but go there and back outside of rush hours).

I saw so much incoming work go past my eyeballs today that I actually lost track of what came in and when it's due (except to make sure nothing was due over the short term). I am slowly developing a new activity related to my work, the verb form of which is "to workline," adapted from NASA's "to timeline," which assigns actions to be performed at certain times within a given time interval.

"Worklining" consists of me sitting down at the very start of a job and looking at what needs to be done (which includes things like OCR, which occur before I actually sit down to translation) and figuring out how long those steps will take, so that the whole thing will come together in the end. I have begun to think of worklining as "the other end of the job" from despeckling (my neologism for quality control on steroids).

Worklining will be a big part of tomorrow morning, let me tell you.

Between us, I am already starting to miss Galina. I would tag along with her, but there's therapy sessions to consider.

I will be strong. I will survive—for a while, at any rate.

Cheers...
