Avoiding the shadows...
Apr. 29th, 2016 09:08 pmGalina and I found a windfall of bananas at the local market yesterday, and today, Galina announced that she had developed a hankering for banana bread, and would I be a darling and find a suitably healthy recipe.
No problem.
More of a problem was finding a suitable container in which to bake the bread. I found a silicone container of appropriate size right away, but since the assignment was to bake two loaves—one for now and the other for the freezer—I ended up spending altogether too much time peering into the gloom under the cabinets, at least up until the time I donned my head-mounted LED light.
I mention the light because I have apparently been wearing it for the past several hours, as if it were the most natural thing in the world to do.
In any event, I found no such suitable container, so I turned and used a Pyrex dish that did a magnificent job.
Work was abundant but done slowly today.
While waiting for clearance to work out at a gym from my doctor, I went for a nice, long walk with the dogs this morning. Between such walks and the "commute" to taiji on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I've resurrected my iPod and have begun to listen to podcasts again.
In the early afternoon, Galina enlisted my aid in planting numerous items in these two large pots that we bought at Sam's Club not long ago. I got suitably dirty, and I figure the activity probably counts as exercise of some kind (dragging bags of dirt around, moving heavy pots, bending, avoiding armies of angry, biting ants, etc.).
I might do some more exercise before hitting the rack, or I might not. We'll see.
Big weekend tomorrow and Sunday. Big!
Cheers...
