Never had this happen before...
May. 2nd, 2016 06:29 amWord must've felt guilty about the way it treated me last night, because it came up this morning with a recovered copy of yesterday's formatted (and I thought forever lost) file, suggesting that... I should have rebooted my computer after Word crashed and failed to recover my work?
That's not the "immediate action" drill that comes to mind, really, but I may try it if something like this ever occurs in the future.
Of course, I became aware of the recovered file only after opening the raw OCR that I saved yesterday and reformatting it (and actually, I managed to complete the reformat in about 1/3 the time, with a little added oomph provided by those macros I mentioned last night).
All that said, I do not seem to recall seeing the by-now familiar window off to the side of the current Word file informing me of the availability of recovered files.
No worries, however. The coffee I made this morning was particularly good.
Cheers...
P.S. Is it my imagination, or is Elementary working its way toward a "Reichenbach Falls" kind of season-ender next week? It's just a feeling on my part, but one I can't shake.
