Gordon T. picked me up around noon and we set offfor Dallas. It took quite a while to get out of town, because of traffic, but once clear of traffic, the rest of the trip was easy. We eased into the parking lot at the Doubletree at a little after five and checked in.
There were some other people here from Houston as well, so it's not as if there will be no familiar faces tomorrow. We dropped by the "pre-event" event, which consisted of some dealers laying out some of their wares, and I, at least, very nearly overdosed on all of the stuff that was on display. I can only imagine what tomorrow will be like.
Gordon and I came to a similar conclusion, to wit—that it's probably a better thing that our first show is this size as opposed to, say, the giant D.C. pen show, which is the largest pen show in the country (AFAIK).
I am also thinking that this show is going to concentrate more on vintage (as opposed to contemporarily manufactured) pens, which is where my interest lies, anyway.
Gordon and I had an interesting conversation during the drive. We share quite a number of interests, more about which later. Maybe.
Curious, though.
