Actually, the disk arrived one day early (it goes back to Denver... I wonder if it came from there?).
I would venture to say that much of the cost for conventional video/DVD rental goes to cover retail rent and employee salaries. I suspect the overhead is much lower for this kind of online operation, not to mention that the revenue stream is steady, regardless of whether there are "customers in the store" or not.
