I got out of the house a few minutes late this morning, but in plenty of time to make my flight over at the other end of town, at the International Airport. For the first time, I experienced having the car stopped and perfunctorily searched upon entering the area of the airport (all cars got the treatment).

The airline's computers selected me again for the detailed security check... heck, I'm getting used to this. And now that they don't check your identification every 50 feet or so, or select people at the gate for the in-depth search (or at least they do not at the orange level), it's almost tolerable. I even started to get some clues as to why I keep getting selected.

It was raining in Durango when I landed. The weather was fresh and cool. Upon returning to Pagosa, we went by the kids' place, but they were out. Then we stopped by the City Market, where I found the pharmacy closed and was told it would be closed tomorrow as well.

Seeing as how I need to get some meds before I leave on Tuesday morning, I managed to sweet-talk the manager into sweet-talking the pharmacist to come in tomorrow and help me out.

Once home, Galina and I ate dinner and only noted that the dogs were gone after the closing credits started rolling on a fairly sappy but nice film titled My House in Umbria. Ming eventually came back on his own. A neighbor came by a about 30 minutes ago to tell us the Sasha was at his place.

At 9:30, I called Tanya G. in Kazakhstan, which is easier than it sounds. I got the straight skinny about the assignment, and feel a lot better about it, if for no other reason than it's not such an unknown quantity any more.

I've done nothing translation-wise today, except for the short sprint at the beginning of the day. I spent most of the travel time asleep or dozing. Tomorrow, I plan to review and send the item I finished on Friday, and then turn to on the item that's still on my plate. French tapes will be playing in the background while I work tomorrow during the day and while I pack tomorrow night.

Cheers...
