Still no joy...

alexpgpI got a response from TRADOS, but the only thing they really "solved" was a completely new problem: a failure to recognize the languages that I'd picked during installation. (The version of TRADOS I have, the so-called "Freelance" edition, only lets you choose up to five languages.) This I did not understand, but the support fellow had an answer for it.
You see, I had walked away from my machine during the upgrade installation, and returned to find the machine rebooted with the "Gee, we seem to have a problem with your Active Desktop" background on my desktop. So, I ran the "repair installation" option off the install CD, which - according to the support person - sometimes deletes aforementioned languages.
In the end, I uninstalled and reinstalled TRADOS, which got it to recognize my language selection, but the program still doesn't work on my VAIO. (And I don't much feel like risking an installation on my desktop, since that's the only place the program works right now.)
Talking about it working, I managed to do about 4900 words with the previous version today, which is pretty good, especially considering how my work schedule has had a doctor follow-up added to it (tomorrow morning at 9 am, preceded by an echocardiogram... it'd slipped my mind). If the procedure is anything like the one I had in January, it should take all of about 20 minutes, so I'm sure I'll be home by noon or so, in plenty of time to finish reviewing (and updating) the job and sending it off.
I also managed to add the three figures to the last article outstanding on the 60K job, although I still have to review the piece (around 4000 words) and send it off. Adding the figures was child's play; editing the figures in preparation for inclusion was not. Aside from that, I need to finish translating the manual for the FORTRAN-based analysis program and then review and send it off, thereby completing the 60K job.
I'm tired. It'd probably be a good idea to get some quality rest for the drive tomorrow morning.
