Super Bowl update... sort of...

I only really noticed this morning that I had completely missed keeping myself informed of who was playing in the Super Bowl. Of course, as soon as I realized this, I could not help but pay attention to the morning news broadcast, which blissfully dispelled my ignorance.

Both assertions have got to be some kind of comment on my state of mind.

And since when has there been a football team in Carolina?

1995. Jacksonville got the expansion Jaguars that year too. Then the Cleveland Browns moved to Baltimore and became the Ravens in 1996; the current Cleveland Browns were the 1999 expansion team. Similarly the Houston Oilers left the Astrodome and moved to Tennessee--good riddance to the despicable Bud Adams--in 1997 (Memphis in 1997 while their Nashville stadium was being built) so Houston in exchange for building Reliant Stadium got the expansion Texans in 2002 and also hosts today's Super Bowl.
