The count keeps on...
Dec. 24th, 2000 06:30 amEight days and a wakeup.
I'll be doing air-to-ground again today. Yesterday, I worked with Leonid S., who is a very nice guy with a wry sense of humor. We alternated passes, as is the custom.
I've packed 28 boxes (surprising myself with a new-found record-keeping ability :^). The room looks like it's been hit by a hurricane, and there are massive gaps on the bookcases, but I figure the job - at least in here - is only about 30% done.
The pile of discards is growing.
I'll have to seriously "turn to" this task when I get home this afternoon. In the brief moments in between, we'll have to plan the timeline for the actual move.
Gawd, I'm beginning to think (or at least talk like) the ops planners at work! Yikes!
Cheers...

Date: 2000-12-24 11:21 am (UTC)The last time I moved, a long time ago, a got on my girlfriend's case to make sure she labeled all the boxes from her apartment. Then when it was my turn, I just dumped everything into boxes and relied on my memory, which of course was a poor choice. She didn't speak to me for days ;)

Date: 2000-12-24 02:26 pm (UTC)It's a yellow notebook in which I have written, in various shorthand forms, the content of each box. The process actually helps me focus on each item to decide whether to pack it or junk it.
I followed your method the last time we moved, and there are now - 8 months later - STILL things I have not found that I need, and that I have spent money to replace, in some cases.
Cheers...
