that the populace will vote with their wallets on some of those "censorship-by-the-author" schemes you are talking about. Hopefully, they will go the way of other such ideas as 8-track tapes, beta video formats, limited play DVDs (which have already been tried or at least planned but not materialized), software which attaches itself to a cpu, and software which tracks the number of ties it has been installed and de-installed (which is one reason why many software licenses are single-use at a time rather than machine dependent now).
