Yesterday's culinary project involved the creation of lasagna.
This involved the purchase of suitable noodles, and I assumed (that word, again) that the recipe on the back would suffice for me to stumble along and create the dish, but it turned out the instructions basically involved making one's own meat sauce. I was not in the mood, and so a shortcut was taken, involving the use of bottled sauce.
Some observations:
In the end, the product was of "I want seconds" quality, and it will take us quite some time (a few days at least) to finish off the leftovers.
That said, I really do need to start paying closer attention to my eating habits. I've gained 10 pounds since my last chemo session.
Cheers...

Some observations:
- bottled sauce imparts its own "personality" in terms of taste, which cannot be changed (at least, not for the better). This is not necessarily bad, and we lucked out with what was in our pantry;
- always plan to make more meat sauce than you figure you'll need. Nothing extravagant, but it's better to have a little left over (which can always be used somewhere) than to be caught short (and try to spread a layer of sauce ever thinner to assure noodle coverage).
