Friday, I got a call from my best client alerting me to an incoming file that was going to bump the 11K job that was due on the 18th (and is now due... I'm not sure when... the 21st?). There is, it was said, a load of follow-on work as well.
The file arrived and also weighed in at just over 11K (though there are apparently a number of text boxes scattered throughout a fairly sizeable number of figures in the text). At any rate, I managed to commit around 1,500 of those words to phosphor before hitting the sack Friday night, intending to progress at a rate of 3,000 source words during each of yesterday, today, and tomorrow, but as I noted in yesterday's post, I just couldn't get a fire going yesterday.
Today has been a much better day. In fact, this past couple of hours have been positively freaky. I just did one of my source-words-left-to-do counts, and came up with just under 4,000. My apparently superhuman productivity can be explained as a combination of skill in crafting macros and the use of translation memory, not to mention loads of talent and good looks (!).
In any event, having 4,000 words left is a Good Thing™.
Cheers...
