It's after 11 pm, and I feel like something the cat wouldn't bother dragging in. Which is to say: I'm tired of working.

The day's bag is nearly 4000 target words and I'm on track with my schedule.

One thing that continues to disappoint is finding a bunch of GotVoice messages, indicating that my cell phone doesn't stay connected too well with the local Verizon network (not surprising, as it seems the entire company has to keep showing up all over the place to shoot television commercials).

The first bill from the lawyer handling the estate showed up in the mail. If I wore dentures, I'd have swallowed them.

The costs of probate can gobble up most of a modest estate in no time flat! Do you and Galina have Living Trusts, perchance? They seem to move forward with far less kafuffle, as I recall from my Dad's passing. Lawyers still get their cuts, of course . . . . how not, given the legal setup we struggle with . . . . but at least houses and so on don't _have_ to be sold immediately, etc.

Don't know whether I'm coming or going, some days.

Spoke to the local lawyer about stuff for me'n Galina, he suggests we get things done in Colorado, where we're domiciled. Given his rate, he's probably saving me money.

A major part of the expense was/is/will be my dad's apparent lack of kin. The court won't budge until it's satisfied there are no (potential) heirs lurking in the wings.
