Calling "it" a day...
Apr. 7th, 2008 09:09 pm...not that "it" would listen, one way or another.
It has been one difficult day.
I had been working the translation in a manner atypical of my usual approach, which is to leave the "detailing" (headers, footers, etc.) for later.
As a result, I only got 23 pages done of the 26 I had planned. Still, it's been a 6,000 word day, so I should not complain. Knowing what I now know, tomorrow I'll go back and try OCRing the next slug of work (26 pages), which ought to actually make things go faster, because I spent an inordinate amount of time typing numbers today.
Too, I got a pretty late start today, and the diversion with the "warmup" assignment didn't help. It was probably ill-advised, but there's nothing to be done about that now. It's done and gone (and invoiced).
Meanwhile, I suspect my firewall and my anti-virus are having a disagreement. I think I'll uninstall and reinstall them.
Cheers...
