I agreed to take a 1500-word job today from my best client, which was probably not a terribly swift move, but hey! what are best clients for? After dispatching the translation and napping - and reading another 150 pages of Nelson DeMille's Up Country - I sat down to take care of two "reworks," which involve incorporating revisions into translations.

I took entirely too long on the first job, mostly because there were... discrepancies... between the revised document and the translation I was given as a baseline. The only problem (sort of) was that I had been instructed to do only the marked revisions, but some of the discrepancies interfered with that.

The second job seems better in that regard, not to mention I was the original translator, so there's not as much wincing, which happens when I run across a rendering that isn't necessarily wrong, but still makes me wince when I read it.

Still, it's an 86 page job that must be submitted by noon tomorrow, but I'm only 1/6 of the way through it, and seriously thinking of hitting the sackeroonie.

Cheers...
