Crimea River...
Apr. 28th, 2008 11:15 amI don't know why the subject popped into my mind, except that it was probably my very first mondegreen, and what made it all the more strange was that I was a tender lad of junior high school age when I heard those words - instead of the more, um, romantic "Cry me a river!" - being sung on the Ed Sullivan Show.
What that has to do with anything is beyond me, except that I'm about to ship off 17,716 words of translation, so I'm feelin' pretty chipper!
Cheers...

Date: 2008-04-28 03:21 pm (UTC)Sounds like you need several amiable ambles with Shiloh along grassy verges, lawns full of flowers, and a sandy beach or two for grit. (What were those yellow flowers you meandered through, anyway? Didn't look like ones I'm familiar with in naturalized settings.)
GOOD ON you, as the Aussies (and some Kiwis) say!

Date: 2008-04-28 03:34 pm (UTC)Would that I could, but it's rainin' at a pretty good clip right now, so I'm going to stay inside for a while.
As far as the flowers are concerned, "pretty yellow flowers" is about the extent of my expertise (horticultural or otherwise) in that field. I'll try to find out though; now, you've got me curious.
(Then again, folks've been sayin' I'm 'curious' for a while, now...)
Hmmm. I must still be feelin' pretty skippy!
:^)
