Sick...

We had been invited to what I understood to be a Christmas program last night, and everything was quite pleasant until time came for the sermon, whereupon I realized that we had been invited to a Christmas service as well.

Upon returning home, I began to feel pretty bad. My guts were all a-churn, causing a few trips to the head, and I shivered while waiting for the house to warm up. I eventually got into bed, under three blankets, and drifted off for a couple of hours, waking at around 11 pm.

From that point on, things just got worse. All through the night, I had one of my patented "replay it over and over" dreams that would cause me to wake about every 10 minutes. The subject of the dream was a kind of strange catalog of steps that I had to undertake to feel better, except that I kept losing my grasp on the steps.

I also realized that the blankets I was under were stifling, but even with the room heaters on full, I would start to shiver if I tried to come out from under them.

It's been snowing pretty much all day today, so between the weather and my condition, we missed out on visiting the kids and the in-laws. I only just recently forced a bowl of soup down my throat. I hope I feel better tomorrow.

Merry (belated) Christmas to all!

Cheers...

Man! I hope you feel better tomorrow, too.

As warm as it is here, it's still hard to sleep comfortably. The temperature outside is 70 degrees with 91% R.H. so the humidity soaks into the house and we have to run the A/C cold to keep the inside humidity down. Then I wake up in a cold sweat. All I have is the sniffles though, so I should be thankful.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I do feel better. Weak, but better.

The snow continues to fall (of course, as the wind is carrying the flakes horizontally past our windows, one could argue that, but I digress...).

And Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, too!

Cheers...

Sorry you got the Dreaded Lurgy for Christmas!! You don't suppose it had to do with all the travelling about you've been doing, in strange places with strange people and boilings of germs you haven't met for a long time? (Or was it perhaps the sermon, the which you would rather have foregone, had you been given your Free Choice?)

No necking with your Lady or with the grandchildren for a while, I suspect, and copious glasses of hot tea-and-lemon or somesuch to soothe the throat? And a trip to the doctor if it lingers at all, since you definitely DO NOT need to segue into pewmonia, bronchitis or a heart attack (you listening?).

Hugs (from a safe distance) and harmonious thoughts,
Daphnis the Ditherer

I'm feeling better, thanks.

I don't think it was all the strange bugs (or the sermon). To be frank, I not really sure what it might've been, though I'd place the local supermarket high on the list of suspects simply because I've spent so much time there when it hasn't been snowing!

Thanks for the hugs and thoughts. I hope all is going well at your end of the connection. Best holiday wishes.

Cheers...
