The networking saga, continued...

The day after LapLink Gold seemed to melt away my network problems, the connection to the front computer (Alice) went bad. A call to LinkSys (several calls, actually, as their automated support system repeatedly disconnected me) indicated a possible bad cable.
This morning, I took my laptop to work and hooked it up at the "Alice" end of the Cat 5 network cable, and everything worked like gangbusters. I then ran diagnostics on the network card inside of Alice and everything came up clean, except for the loopback diagnostic, but another LinkSys support person said that was normal.
I deleted and reinstalled the network card driver, with no joy. My next step will be to remove and reseat the card. After that... ?
...and now I really have to get to bed.
Cheers...
