Coming back up to speed, slowly...

It's just a good thing the phone isn't ringing off the hook with work because I'm still recovering from this impromptu road trip we just returned from. It was educational!
After spending time getting my work self ready for the trip, it turns out that I have great difficulty walking and chewing gum at the same time.
Among other shortcomings, I forgot the mini-USB cable that allows me to tether my BlackBerry to my HP, which - considering that our hosts did not have wireless in the house - left me high and dry as far as connectivity is concerned (and unfortunately, the BB is, unequivocally and definitively, a barely tolerable platform for composing chunks of text much greater than can be stuffed into a SMS).
My other major snafu involved the work files I copied for the trip, which were sorely incomplete (something that I realized only because the files I needed were not among the ones I copied onto my USB stick for the trip, but at home).
I do have a hardware/software checklist for travel, but didn't think I'd need it for this trip. Boy, was I wrong.
in other news, I spent the day sorting through junk, dealing with plants, and doing a first pass through a bunch of French commemoratives I picked up recently. I also paid a bunch of bills and gave some thought to tweaking some approaches to learning I've been mulling over.
Tomorrow is Friday. Perhaps I should make an effort to attend the ham radio breakfast tomorrow morning; it's been ages!
Cheers...
