One of the nice side effects of using a tool like Wordfast for translation is that if Microsoft Word locks up, at least you can recover a great deal of unsaved work because Wordfast updates its database after every segment.
It works like this: If Word loses all your unsaved work, all you have to do is reopen the most recent version of the file, step through your "untranslated" text and Wordfast will find a translation for it - the one you did a little while ago - in its database.
Unfortunately, when you're doing a rework that involves <spit> revision mode (i.e., the client wants the translation to look like the source document, which means translating and editing in <spit> revision mode), you can't use Wordfast (or any other TM program, as far as I know).
So, I've just lost a bunch of work, and I'm feeling a little frustrated!! Y'dig?
Cheers...
