An email from my client informs me that this gig almost got canceled yesterday, which would've savagely gored my mellow. As it stands, my morale has been shaken.

But not stirred. I'm still on the job.

Galina (and I, involuntarily) watched Leno's last appearance on Tonight until even she couldn't stand it any more and turner it off in disgust. Carson went out with more class, she said.

Time for a snack.

There was a strange ending to the show. Leno mentioned and showed a photo of a baby born to a staff member soon after Leno took over the show then the seventeen-year-old girl came out with a bag of cookies for him. She has made cookies for him every year since she was four.

They he told of all the staff members who met and married on the show and finally said that he had wondered just how many children had been born to staff in that seventeen years. Turns out it was more than fifty and he had them assembled on stage for the final minutes of the show.

I thought no one could replace Jack Parr.

I don't think I stayed up late enough to see Steve Allen do the show, but Allen's prime time show was my favorite. I think it was called "Your Show of Shows," but that could have been something else. Guess I can google it.
