If English were to be legally declared to be the "official" language of the United States, would that then require the creation of a mechanism - along the lines, say, of the French Academy - to determine what is and is not English?

I'm just wondering.

And now, back to the Metro.

Cheers...

And would proper English grammar then be taught in school?

Amigo!
Considering how much Spanish is used in everyday language here in California, even by non-Spanish speakers like myself, someone would be hard pressed to evaluate who is speaking English or not.

Then, what about teen-speak? or punk-speak? or techie-speak? Or Geek-speak?

hasta la vista~
