Evens and starts...

I went scrambling for a pen today, and grabbed the first thing at hand out of a box we brought from New York. It turned out to be a Paper Mate from cthulhu-knows-when... maybe 40 years ago? The clip is missing, but the pen started writing very nearly immediately, and the feel of how it moves over the paper is nice. Certainly nicer than most of the gel pens I've acquired, very nearly all of which seem to refuse to work after a few weeks.
It occurs to me, given all the television that I watch (which is hardly any), I could probably buy the episodes of the shows I like, and in the end, I'd spend less than I do for the dish service. (Of course, there is the little thing of finding out about new shows that I might like, by watching them.) In any event, HBO and Showtime seem a complete waste of time, as far as I can see.
Apropos of television viewing, my jury is still out on Warehouse 13, but I'm not expecting a positive verdict. I was sort of taken by the show's pilot, but as the series has progressed, I find myself alienated by its basic premise - that things have palpable supernatural power - and the fact that there's no chemistry developing between the male and female... I don't really think of them as "leads," because there are too many other strong characters to pay attention to.
Today was kombucha day, during which I harvested the batch that's been brewing for the past week or so, which tastes sort of weak, but that may just be the tea I used. There are two jars in today's new batch, one I can harvest in a week or so, and a second I can let sit for another week, if necessary.
Cheers...
