The printed receipt from the gas station in Pagosa is time-stamped 4:20 pm on Friday afternoon, which is the latest we've ever gotten on the road for Texas. We got as far as Tucumcari, New Mexico, before calling it a night.

It was quite a drive, let me tell you. Neither Galina nor I had considered that it would be the first time that both Shiloh and Hana would be sharing tight quarters in a moving vehicle. Shiloh elected to stay as far away from Hana as possible, especially as the air was rent with cries that were doubtless the feline equivalent of "Just where the heck do you think you are you taking me?"

On the road again...

We got up (Shiloh-aided) at 6:15 am Mountain Time, and made it to Houston by 8:30 pm. Natalie met us, quite literally, on the road to Seabrook (meaning that I looked over at the car next to us as we drove south on I-45 and there she was!).

More tomorrow.

Cheers...

Yeah, that's a long drive through basically nothing. We took that route down from Denver thinking that we could make it to Dallas in one day (we did, but it really wasn't worth it). Tucumcari was one of the towns we passed through on the way.

the kicker was driving from Dallas back to home in one day. Never again.

Your car is still in one piece? Amazing, our pets would have shredded everything in sight, though we're considering traveling with Festus next time.

It's her second-favorite position in the car. (The first was occupied)

:^)

Well, Denver to Dallas is roughly like Pagosa to Houston, so I know what you mean, and can empathize.

Long distance driving is for the birds.

Cheers...

I know what Shiloh is thinking:
Are we there yet?

Are we there yet?

Are we there yet??
