On a whim, I browsed for the multimedia version of the Yves & Tellier stamp catalog for France and found the newly released 2010 version on sale by the publisher for just under 20 euros (around $28), a not unreasonable price for such a product.

However, shipping to the US from France runs 24 euros (around $34).

I like to think this is for expedited air service, but still... I don't think this alternative is for me (unless I look at it as a product that costs around $62, with free shipping).

Cheers...

Would they ship it to me? I'm sure the re-shipping from Switzerland won't be much at all.

Je ne sais pas, as it depends on how one defines the European Union. Technically, the 24 euro rate is for "livraison hors UE" (and as far as I remember, Switzerland is "hors UE"). It's an idea, though, as "livraison en UE" is 14 euro.

Thanks for offering.

Cheers...

P.S. While I'm thinking of it, what might a "chèque à la commande" method of payment be? I thought it might be payment by check for the order, sort of along the lines of a bank transfer.

Happy to receive and re-ship if it helps, just let me know. A chèque à la commande is usually payment by cheque in advance. Most of the time it only works in France, largely because the rest of Europe hasn't seen a cheque in yonks.
