Shiloh decided she needed to go out at 2:57 am, so I walked her to the door, let her out, and stood around long enough, waiting for her to come back, for me to be fully awake by the time I closed the door after she returned from her mission.

Unfortunately, in the meantime, I had started to think about stuff that needs doing, so by the time everyone was back in bed, I was pretty much fully awake. Whereupon the kittens decided this was an ideal time to engage in some night maneuvers, and retired to the kitchen so as to be sure to wake me when something fell off a counter.

It went downhill from there.

Yesterday went well. I polished off the second of three PowerPoint files and sent it off early in the morning. The kids took me to the Shanghai for a birthday lunch. Then I started to read The Forty-Seven Ronin Story, by John Allyn, because (a) the book has been hanging around for far too long unread on my shelf, and (b) the phrase "forty-seven ronin" has popped up on my radar over the years - and recently - far too often to ignore. (It was why I bought the book to begin with.)

I fully expect to have to take a nap sometime during the day (heck, I may crawl back between the covers after posting this entry). However, sometime during the day, I shall have to finish at least 3 status reports and the remaining PowerPoint file.

And then start in on all the other good stuff.

Cheers...
