alexpgp...was available to me earlier this afternoon, when a client sent me the next slug of a series of reports that've been coming in over the past 10 days, but the instructions that accompanied the mail said not to start on the documents until tomorrow morning, so I decided to wait until tomorrow to even look at the work.
I did that so I could put some kind of decent dent in the remaining 8100 source words of the Next Big Job™, which now amount to a mere 5800 source words. It's not the 3,000 I had planned for last week, but then again, last week Galina and I hadn't been invited to spend the afternoon at the kids' place for Easter dinner.
I may have tried too hard to get too much done this morning (particularly the part involving moving stuff around), and then Feht came by to shoot the breeze for a few minutes and drop off some stamps he thought I'd find interesting, as we won't have another opportunity to meet face-to-face for some time.
I wasted some time creating what I thought was a bootable Ubuntu USB rescue stick, when actually, all I did was create a bootable USB stick and learn what steps to take to temporarily install an antivirus and NT password reset program that may be of use in dealing with a malfunctioning Windows computer.
These changes are temporary because once one shuts down the Ubuntu session, all the downloaded and installed software is sent to the Great Bit-Bucket In The Sky, so that all I really created was a run-of-the-mill bootable Ubuntu USB stick that may or may not be of utility to me in far-off places.
Work will resume in earnest tomorrow morning, and there is also the LJ Idol piece to think about, though I'm going to sleep on the story "seed" that occurred to me a few minutes ago.
I would be well advised to get a good night's sleep.
