I felt a bit guilty declining yesterday's offer of work, but it wasn't as if I didn't have items on my plate to begin with, and as it turns out, quite a bit of "normal" work has flown through the transom today (and it's only 10 am).

I'm just getting used to the Office 2010 upgrade that I installed the day before yesterday, the major noticeable downside to which is the fact that the Russian language pack I bought for my Office 2007 installation is no longer usable. In other respects, I haven't used the new package long enough to tell if there's much of a difference or an improvement. Time will tell.

Back to work. Once I finish the item left undone from yesterday and another short item due tomorrow, I will be relatively free to back off on the rpms for a little while.

Cheers...

I usually find that the upgrades are minor from year to year, which is usually why I wait a number of years before I upgrade. Of course I suppose it depends on how much and for what purpose you use the software. For me, I use office in the most basic form for simple word documents and spreadsheets. Maybe once a year I will use powerpoint but that's about it.

For the kind of usage intensity you describe, one could probably do just fine with the Open Office suite of applications (which is freely available). Alas, in my line of work, I routinely process every sort of Office document, some of which exhibit the most wide-ranging of pathologies.

Cheers...
