I've had quieter days...

Some work came in this morning, not as much as I had hoped, but enough to keep me off the streets, so to speak. Still no word on the big job that's hanging out there in limbo. My fingers remained crossed.

I had a Skype conversation this morning with a gent in France that I "met" via conversationexchange.com. It went well. I felt fairly fluent when expressing myself in French (although I am sure I made scores of errors, which is the point), and understood everything my interlocutor—who lives just north of Paris—said as we spoke. His English is very good, albeit spoken with an accent. Although he explained that others have had trouble understanding his speech, I had no trouble understanding his English.

The rest of the day was spent shopping (taking the car down the driveway was not much of a risk, seeing as how much of the snow there had melted), exploring why my online Skype number doesn't ring on my DROID X, and translating. The Skype question is still an issue, but not a pressing one at this time.

I think it might be a good idea to go eat something, before it gets really late. I don't recall having much of a breakfast or lunch.
