For some reason, iTunes decided I needed to have my Apps spread out over 11 screens instead of 4.

So I just spent about 20 minutes moving stuff around to where I want it.

Whereupon iTunes crashed.

Still, I continue to deal with it, which means that the pleasure associated with stuff it does right outweighs the pain associated with stuff it does wrong.

Almost there...

I had my own set of "upgrade" problems. My iPhone made it look like the iOS 5 installation had failed and, as a failsafe, had backed itself down to a factory-fresh mode, whereupon iTunes refused to complete a restoration of user files. On closer inspection, the iOS 5 installation had succeeded, but only the photos had transferred in from the pre-upgrade backup. Three attempts were made to continue the file restoration, all ending with "Unknown error (-48)". The solution? Unplug the iPhone and shut down iTunes, wait about a minute to make sure the memory allocation for iTunes had cleared, then plug the iPhone back in and restart iTunes. Voila...phone is recognized, restoration concludes without further incident.

Sad, though...I really was hoping for an upgrade sequence that simply WORKED. Silly me, thinking that high-tech was completely painless.
