I'm not finding much to put my mind at rest in my remaining references (at least, the ones I've recovered from storage).

information advantageNow, if we assume that this trinity of English terms is patterned upon similar terms of military origin where "air" takes the place of "information," it becomes clear—especially to any groundpounder who has had to look to the sky for salvation in the practical, and not necessarily religious sense—that these terms are about as synonymous as the words "good," "better," and "best."
